Vizcaya brgy placed under total lockdown due to COVID-19
ARITAO, Nueva Vizcaya, May 2 (PIA) – The municipal local government here has put barangay Calitlitan under total lockdown following the emergence of two COVID-19 positive patients.
The emergence of the elderly patient and a 25-year-old villager from the said barangay came as the province was faring as a COVID-19-positive-free for almost a month in April.
The extent of the first patient’s contact traces at more than 80 persons in their community including several workers of the Nueva Vizcaya Provincial Hospital (NVPH) in Bambang town where the patient was first admitted, followed by the second COVID-19 patient prompted municipal officials of Aritao to recommend the total lockdown status for barangay Calitlitan.
The 2 COVID-19 positive patients are now being treated at the Region 2 Trauma and Medical Center (R2TMC) in Bayombong town.
The total lockdown status for Calitlitan was approved in a Executive Order No. 26 by Mayor Remelina Peros-Galam dated April 30, 2020.
“This is being implemented to prevent and contain the spread of the COVID-19 through local transmission. Villagers of barangay Calitlitan will not be allowed to come out during the lockdown period,” Peros-Galam said.
She however said that the LGU will provide assistance and for the basic needs and daily sustenance of the villagers from April 30 May 14, 2020 as curfew is enforced at 24 hours daily.
The order also bans non-residents of the community from entry in the barangay and further prohibits passing private and cargo vehicles from stopping within the barangay’s highway stretch.
