TRECE MARTIRES CITY, Cavite Jun 19 (PIA) — Several couples in the different cities and municipalities in the province decided to tie the knot on the wedding month of June amid coronavirus disease (COVID)-19 pandemic.

The local chief executives officiated the civil wedding ceremony in their offices with the brides all dressed in white while everyone wearing face masks and observing  physical distancing in compliance with health protocols.

In the municipality of Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo-Bailen, Mayor Nelia Bencito-Angeles wed 17 couples on June 16 & 17, 2020. The event is part of the local government’s program ‘Kasalang Bayan.’

The 17 pairs were grouped into five batches with only one pair of sponsors for every couple to avoid overcrowding and allow physical distancing during the wedding ceremony inside the office of the mayor.

Meanwhile, Trece Martires Mayor Gemma Buendia-Lubigan, and Bacoor City Mayor Lani Mercado-Revilla were both honored to wed couples who came to their offices to make their relationship official.

Also, Dasmariñas City Mayor Jenny Austria-Barzaga officiated the special wedding for two couples at The Penthouse with strict implementation of physical distancing and a gathering of less than 10 persons pursuant to IATF rules on mass gatherings.

The mayors wished the newly wed couples all the best in their married life.

“To the newlyweds, I extend my greetings to all of you. Be responsible as you build your own family and a good example to your children. Also be good citizens for the betterment of our country,” Mayor Nelia Angeles advised the couples.
