Tangub city distributes vegetable seedlings
TANGUB CITY, Misamis Occidental, May 4 (PIA) – In support of the national government’s thrust on food security, the Office of the City Agriculture here has distributed vegetable seedlings to urban and coastal households as well as farming barangays of the city.
Seedlings grown in the office nursery at Barangay Maloro are ready for transplanting to the recycled plastics, sacks and other containers.
City Agriculturist Jose Binondo said the seedlings ready for distribution are ampalaya, eggplant, squash, sitao, cucumber, tomatoes, upo, pechay, kangkong and okra.
Barangay 1 was the first to receive the seedlings.
In a ceremonial turnover ceremony attended by the city officials headed by City Mayor Jennifer W. Tan, 16 beneficiaries received their seedlings which were delivered door-to-door.
