Taguig LGU now capable of conducting 2,000 COVID-19 tests daily
PARAÑAQUE CITY, July 15 (PIA) — Taguig City is now capable of conducting around 2,000 COVID-19 tests daily with the establishment of a national testing facility at the Enderun Colleges in Bonifacio Global City, Mayor Lino Cayetano on Tuesday announced.
“Habang dahan-dahan tayong nag bubukas ng ating ekonomiya, makakabalik na sa trabaho ang ating mga kababayan, kailangan ho maging agresibo tayo dito sa Test, Trace, and Treat.” Cayetano said in his presentation to national government agency officials who visited the city to drumbeat government’s COVID-19 response strategy.
At the same time, Mayor Lino said the local government is offering free COVID-19 Polymerise Chain Reaction (PCR) test to residents and employees under the city’s “Three Ts” program, which stands for “Test, Trace, and Treat” to curb the virus spread.
Under Test, the city campaigns for aggressive testing which is possible through the two drive-thru testing areas, 31 health centers, local hospital, and ambulance home testing team.
He also said the city will open two additional quarantine facility for mild or asymptomatic cases in Lower Bicutan and BGC. Currently, Taguig has 4 operating quarantine facilities.
“The key from transitioning to ECQ to the ‘new normal’ is ay ang ma master natin itong three Ts na to.” he said.
Earlier that day, Mayor Cayetano together with Department of Health Sec. Francisco Duque III, Department of the Interior Local Government Sec. Eduardo Año, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, and Testing Czar Vince Dizon, held a press conference at the Bonifacio Global City (BGC) Drive-Thru Testing Area on Taguig’s COVID-19 response.
