SM Tuguegarao assures compliance with LGU health protocols
TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan, May 10 (PIA) – – – The SM Center Tuguegarao Downtown (SMTD) here assured the public that all health protocols issued by the local government unit are observed and strictly implemented since the city transitioned to general community quarantine (GCQ).
Gerina Rose Malubay-Torno, press relations officer said the SM here has deployed Safety Protocol Officers to ensure that all customers and tenant employees follow the safety and sanitation protocols of the mall before they enter the mall premises.
“The deployment of Safety Protocol Officers is a manifestation that the mall is compliant with the specific guidelines set by the Inter-Agency Task Force on Infectious Disease and the LGU relative to safety precautionary measures against COVID-19,” Torno said.
Among the main duties and responsibilities of the mall’s Safety Protocol Officer are to perform crowd control and to ensure the strict implementation of safety and sanitation protocols such as but not limited to safe distancing, wearing of face mask, and hand and foot sanitation in all mall’s entrances.
Torno added that while the country is under State of Public Health Emergency, the deployment of Safety Protocol officers is operational until Proclamation No. 922 is not lifted.
On the other hand, the SM Tuguegarao continues its effort in disinfecting its mall.
Earlier, the Bureau of Fire and Protection (BFP) here is helping the city government in disinfecting the thoroughfares as well as big establishments before it reopened on May 4 to ensure public’s safety against COVID-19.
Torno said the disinfection activity is one of the preventive measures of the mall management aside from the implementation of other measures such as taking its employees’ and shoppers’ temperatures, requiring them to wear masks and follow physical distancing.
Torno said the SM management assures the public that it is very safe to shop at any SM Supermall amid COVID-19 scare as the mall promotes “SAFE Malling At SM” campaign. (MDCT/PIA-2)
