March 14, 2021 Uncategorized

MAASIN CITY, July 22 (PIA) — The Southern Leyte State University (SLSU) – Sogod Main Campus released the Identification Numbers of the Maasin City Campus Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) grantees for the first semester of School Year 2019-2020.

“A total of 128 qualified grantees will receive their subsidy set on Friday July 24 at MCC,” Scholarship Coordinator Ruben Sumaya said.

TES is a stipend given to students enrolled in schools, universities and colleges who are in the “Listahan 2.0” of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD). Student-grantees will get P40,000 per year to help defray education expenses such as books, school supplies, food and transportation allowance.

In claiming the checks, Sumaya said that documents will be presented such as: four (4) clear copies back to back of SLSU ID or any government-issued ID with claimant’s fresh signature below if the grantee is the claimant.

However, if the grantee cannot claim personally, three (3) copies of Special Power of Attorney (SPA) and four (4) copies of any Valid ID (SLSU ID or any Government-issued ID) of the grantee and the Authorized Person with their fresh signature.

“As soon as the first semester for School Year 2019-2020 TES grant will complete its distribution, the second semester will follow,” he added.

Each grantee will receive P20,000 for the 1st semester, he added.

In addition to the 128 grantees from SLSU-Maasin City Campus, 15 students will also receive their share who are studying at SLSU-Sogod but are residing in Maasin City, Sumaya said.

During the distribution of checks, SLSU-MCC personnel requested to observe the proper protocol and guidelines from the Local Health Authorities such as bringing of the Quarantine Pass, social distancing and wearing of face mask to avoid possible infection. (ldl/esg/rgc/PIA8-SoLeyte)
