March 14, 2021 Uncategorized

CATBALOGAN CITY, Oct. 28 (PIA) — The Provincial Government of Samar has been serious in its aim to achieve the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) 2020 Award as disclosed by Governor Reynolds Michael Tan.

During the October 26 Flag Ceremony, Governor Tan announced that the skeletal workforce arrangement of the provincial offices will no longer be extended in November.

Tan likewise encouraged the employees to work harder and help each other in their efforts to achieve the SGLG Award.

“The Province of Samar was the only Province in Region 8 and among the few provinces in the Philippines to have received the award,” the Tan shared.

“This award gave pride and dignity to Samarnons. It also helped the province get more projects from the national government that are beneficial to the community,” Tan said, adding that it has entitled permanent employees of the province to get P5,000 Performance-Based Bonus.

To recall, the Province of Samar was one of the 17 Seal of Good Local Governance Awardees for 2019, while the municipalities of Basey, Calbiga, Gandara, and Paranas have received the SGLG Award for the municipality level.

As an incentive, the awardees received the SGLG 2019 Marker, DILG Performance Challenge Fund which may be used to fund local projects, and priority access to other programs of the Department of the Interior and Local Government or DILG. (GMT/PIA-Samar)
