PASIG CITY, July 14 (PIA) — The Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPOST) on Monday released special stamps honoring frontline heroes amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

With the theme “We fight for you, Frontline Heroes, fighting against coronavirus,” the colorful stamps illustrate Filipino workers involved in the battle against COVID-19 which include doctors, medical staff, military, police, delivery, supermarket and food personnel.

This postage stamp is our simple way of uplifting and boosting their morals and making them feel that their sacrifices are not left unnoticed,” Postmaster General Joel Otarra said.

According to PHLPOST, the special stamps is a tribute to our frontline heroes for doing their jobs amid the pandemic. Likewise, the souvenir stamps feature the iconic artwork depicting our modern day “masked super heroes” in blue color which symbolizes stability and responsibility.

PHLPOST has printed 200,000 pieces of eight (8) different frontline heroes featured in the regular stamps sold at 12 pesos each. The stamps were designed by in-house graphic artist Rodine Teodoro.

Likewise, 5,000 pieces of special limited collector’s edition souvenir stamps with a denomination of P55 each will also be released.

PHLPOST has also prioritized the safety of stamp collectors and employees during this difficult time by accepting stamp orders from home and delivered right at the doorstep through its innovative “Stamp on Wheels.”
