PCOO chief to help facilitate funding for Biliran’s proposed 200-bed capacity hospital
NAVAL, Biliran, July 25 (PIA) — No less than the chief of the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) has expressed to help follow-up to the national government the funding of the proposed 200-bed capacity hospital for the Province of Biliran.
The funding for the realization of the construction of the proposed hospital is the top priority request made by Governor Espina during the July 24 episode of the Laging Handa Network Briefing hosted by PCOO Secretary Ruperto Martin M. Andanar.
“Sana po mapondohan at mapagawa na po ‘yong 200-bed capacity na bagong hospital na talagang kailangang-kailangan po namin,” Governor Espina’s said adding that the existing Biliran Provincial Hospital is already overcrowded, located near the seashore and prone to liquefaction as per survey conducted by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources.
“Baka pwede niyo pong bigyan ako ng kopya ng inyong resolution ba yan para mai-remind ko po ang Office of the President at maremind ko po si Senator Bong Go,” Secretary Andanar said.
Espina was grateful to Secretary Andanar for extending such help for the people of Biliran.
It can be recalled that President Rodrigo Roa Duterte signed on January 3, 2019, Republic Act 11167, an Act increasing the bed capacity of the Biliran Provincial Hospital, in its proposed relocation site in Barangay Larrazabal, Municipality of Naval, Province of Biliran, from seventy-five (75) to two hundred (200) beds and appropriating funds therefore. This was authored by Gov. Espina during his term as congressman of Biliran.
Meanwhile, Governor Espina, called on all Biliranons to always follow the golden rule or observe the minimum health standards imposed by the Department of Health in this time of health crisis.
“Lagi pong mag-ingat, huwag po magkumpyansa, at magfacemask lagi ‘pag lumalabas ng bahay. Kapag hindi naman importante ang pupuntahan sa labas ay huwag na sana munang lumabas ng bahay, lagi pong maghugas ng kamay, at ang social o physical distancing ay kailangan pong tuparin ng mabuti para safe po tayong lahat,” Espina said adding that he also prays that we can all overcome and our country as well in this COVID-19 pandemic.
