DTI helps MSMEs bounceback by providing online seminars
PASIG CITY, July 9 (PIA) – The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) provides online seminars or webinars to help micro, small, medium enterprises (MSMEs) bounce back to business.
Trade and Industry Secretary Ramon Lopez during the Pre-SONA Forum held Wednesday, shared that one of programs of DTI is conducting webinars for.
“Marami po tayong programa para matulungan lalo na yung maliliit na negosyo, lalo na dito sa mga lumalakas na online businesses sa panahon ngayon ng pandemya. Marami tayong ginawang mga webinars or online seminars,” said Sec. Lopez.
The DTI chief explained that over 500,000 have participated in the webinars conducted to help MSMEs.
“Sa aming bilang po, over 500,000 or 517,000 ang naging attendees nito to help our Micro SMEs to migrate online yung kanilang mga negosyo in marketing their products, dadalhin sa digital platform para ho mas malawak ang maaabot nito.”
Lopez said that they have partnered with major online platforms Shopee and Lazada to guide MSMEs in doing e-commerce business.
He added that DTI provides product development and free space to give exposure for the products.
“We have the OTOP program tsaka yung Go Lokal program kung saan hindi na kayo magbabayad ng mga renta sa malls. Kundi man online, meron kayong exposure sa mga malls at sa iba pang Pasalubong Centers.”
Lopez said that OTOP or the ‘One Town, One Product’ has 34 hubs and has already helped over 30,000 MSMEs. Likewise, the DTI’s Go Lokal has 123 outlets has helped over 600 MSMes
“Ang mga produkto po nila ay naka pwesto sa mall ng libre, wala pong binabayaran.”
He also encouraged MSMEs to visit or contact the nearest Negosyo Centers for business advices. To date, Sec. Lopez said that there are about 1,130 Negosyo Centers nationwide.
The DTI also offers micro-financing program through the Small Business Corporation to help small online businesses. (PIA-NCR)
