Valentin Baguidudol, DTI-Ifugao provincial director, disclosed that beneficiaries were selected based on their existing projects or micro-businesses during the conduct of NSB activities last year.

Baguidudol explained that there are different livelihood kits  for the  recipients because the basis for the procurement was on what  are needed in their respective business.  This is also to encourage more micro-enterprises especially in rural areas with the hope that they would initiate in their barangays.

“While we will be giving you these kits, we will still be coming over to provide other needed services and entrepreneurial skills to further improve your business until such time that you have grown into a kind of business that is sustainable,” he  said.

The awarding was conducted at the Lagawe Central School gymnasium witnessed by representatives from the Technical Skills Development Authority, Department of Labor and Employment, Philippine Information Agency, municipal and provincial governments.

Said representatives also conducted an information drive about their respective programs and services that the business owners could avail for the benefit of their business endeavors. They enjoined the recipient to utilize the livelihood assistance to boost their business for economic progress of their family and the community as a whole. (JDP/MBL-PIA CAR, Ifugao)
