DOLE releases P13M CAMP aid to Kalinga
CITY OF TABUK, Kalinga, May 11 (PIA) — The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has released to the province P13, 070,000 cash grant under the COVID-19 Adjustment Measures Program (CAMP).
DOLE-Kalinga Head Avelina Manganip said this is the second tranche and the bulk of the assistance for 2,640 employees of private establishments displaced by the COVID-19 pandemic in the province.
To hasten the release of claims, beneficiaries directly receive the aid through accredited partner remittance companies.
Under the program, the government through DOLE provides one-time P5, 000 cash aid to formal workers who were not able to report to work because of the lockdown due to the COVID-19.
Manganip disclosed there are still some releases on process for applicants who had filed before DOLE announced the suspension of applications for CAMP last April 15.
Small business establishments not accommodated under the CAMP are qualified under the Small Business Wage Subsidy (SBWS) of the Department of Finance, Social Security System and Bureau of Internal Revenue, Manganip said. (JDP/LL-PIA CAR, Kalinga)
