DOLE-7 Chief lauds Tri-City Field Office
CEBU CITY, July 21 (PIA) — Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE-7) Regional Director Salome Siaton lauded the Tri-City Field Office (TCFO) for doing their best in addressing the need of the worker thru virtual conference.
“These difficult times will not hinder us from delivering our services. Yes, there are limitations of course in the delivery of our programs and services in relation to the regulations set forth by proper authorities in order to ensure the safety of everyone. But at the same time, we make sure that the expectations and needs of our clients are addressed in the best possible way we could as an Office, despite all these circumstances,” Siaton said.
The Tri-City Field Office covers the cities of Cebu, Mandaue, and Lapulapu.
“We just tried to re-engineer the way we do things since we can’t personally meet both parties to a conference because of the pandemic. We made use of technology available to us to address the workers’ complained of an erroneous computation of her last pay which prompted her to call DOLE for help. The complainant has been working at the Cebu City-based Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) company located at IT Park, Lahug for almost 5 years,” said DOLE TCFO Chief Emmanuel Ferrer said.
The DOLE TCFO facilitated by Engr. Rustico Levi Custorio called for a virtual conference which was attended by both parties, the worker, and the representative of the said BPO and agreed to settle the said concern.
Ferrer congratulated Custorio for having acted on the concern right away despite the limitations that the present time poses.
The BPO worker commended the efforts of the TCFO saying that her last pay of over P17,000 was already credited to her account on July 9.
She also wished for the office to help more workers like her.
Another BPO worker also received his last pay after a virtual conference set by the DOLE Tri-City Field Office.
Both are residents of Consolacion, Cebu. (hfg/PIA7 with report from DOLE 7)
