Disaster seminar needed for marriage, business licenses in Montevista
DAVAO DE ORO, July 24 (PIA) – Businesses for registration and renewal, and persons applying for marriage licenses in Montevista will now undergo a Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Adaptation Orientation Seminar.
This after Montevista Mayor Eutropio Jayectin approved Municipal Ordinance No 196, series of 2020 or the ordinance on Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Adaptation Orientation Seminar.
According to the ordinance, the seminar will develop and strengthen the capacities of the constituents through knowledge of hazards, its causes and effects, and various disaster management counter-measures in the town.
Taking effect immediately upon approval, the applicants for new or renewal of businesses licenses will participate in a half day seminar prior to the processing of the documents.
Meanwhile for couples who apply for marriage licenses, at least two-hour orientation related to the ordinance will be incorporated in the Pre-Marriage Counselling Seminar.
The ordinance also authorizes the Municipal Treasurer to collect PhP 100.00 from each of the participant of the orientation seminar.
Municipal Ordinance No 196 was enacted by the Sangguniang Bayan of Montevista last June 1, and was approved by Mayor Jayectin last June 10. It was then confirmed by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Davao de Oro during its 53rd regular session last July 13. (PIA11, Michael Uy)
