DILG, PNP launch #DisiplinaMuna
KALIBO, Aklan, July 27 (PIA) — The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) – Aklan and the Aklan Police Provincial Office (APPO) recently spearheaded the launching of #DisiplinaMuna National Advocacy Campaign at the Aklan PPO Multi-Purpose Hall in New Buswang here.
The campaign aims to activate the real concept of good governance wherein the citizens are aware of their roles and responsibilities and are actively participating in nation-building.
DILG-Aklan Provincial Director Engr. Carmelo F. Orbista said the #DisiplinaMuna Advocacy puts premium on the DILG programs, projects, policies and activities that shall serve as pillars of said campaign that includes Road Clearing, Disaster Preparedness and Resilience, Anti-Smoking, Ease of Doing Business, Liquor Ban, Tourist Spots Clean-Up, and Functional Barangay Anti-Drug-Abuse Council (BADAC).
#DisiplinaMuna enjoins Local Chief Executives and heads of attached agencies in the province to lead the campaign in their respective LGUs/attached agencies by undertaking relevant advocacy activities promoting the culture of discipline among their constituents, based on the pillars.
The campaign is also anchored on the Philippine Development Plan (PDP) 2017-2022 which aims to lay down the foundation for inclusive growth by ensuring people-centered governance towards “Ambisyon Natin 2040” which envisions a “Matatag, Maginhawa At Panatag Na Buhay Para Sa Lahat.”
“With this initiative, we will be aware that our collaborative effort is vital in building a progressive society. Once there is discipline, peace and order can be attained easily,” Orbista said.
For his part, Aklan PPO Provincial Director Colonel Esmeraldo Osia said promoting the culture of discipline is the key goal.
“This is not only for the benefit of oneself but more importantly of the whole community that we serve,” Osia said.
