Caba town under ECQ for 4 days

CABA, La Union, July 21 (PIA) – In a recommendation from the provincial government and approval of the Regional Inter-Agency Task Force for  COVID-19 (RIATF), Caba town is placed under enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) effective today, July 21 until the midnight of July 25.

This is by virtue of Executive Order No. 23 released by Governor Francisco Emmanuel “Pacoy” Ortega and RIATF for COVID-19 Resolution No. 21.

Meanwhile, Mayor Philip Ceasar Crispino immediately released Executive Order No. 39 prescribing the guidelines for the said ECQ.

Strict home quarantine will be observed in all households except for those accessing essential goods and services and authorized persons outside residence (APOR).

Public transportation shall be suspended including tricycles for hire but motorcycles and private vehicles will be allowed.

Frontline offices like the Municipal Health Office and the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office will be in full operation while other government offices will be under alternative work scheme.

Curfew hours will be implemented from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. under the enforcement of the local police.

Liquor ban will likewise take effect for the said period.

Returning locally stranded individuals and overseas Filipinos are advised to register in their own barangays.

Aside from the eight positive COVID-19 cases, additional one case was reported by the Department of Health in the Ilocos yesterday.

The patient, a 41-year-old male from Barangay Bautista, with travel history to Manila because of his work, is the most recent recorded case.

Mayor Crispino was delighted that all 48 immediate family members of the earlier eight cases tested negative of COVID-19 after the results of their RT-PCR (reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction) were also released yesterday.

Earlier, all 26 co-workers, also frontliners in the said municipality received negative results of their RT-PCR.

The two batches had their swab tests on July 17 and 18, respectively.

In his statement, Mayor Crispino appeals to the public to pray for the fast recovery of the patients and asked them to stay at home whenever possible.  (JCR/AMB/JDS/PIA La Union)
