Bohol guv urges residents to follow GCQ restrictions

TAGBILARAN CITY, June 17 (PIA) — Gov. Arthur Yap urged residents here to follow the restrictions that come with the general community quarantine (GCQ) imposed in the province which will last until June 30.

This as the province of Bohol recorded a total of 15 COVID-19 cases as of June 16, 2020. 

Yap reported one new confirmed COVID-19 infection case on Tuesday evening.

Ayaw kabalaka sa sitwasyon nga naay nadugang sa mga nagpositibo (Don’t worry about the situation that one new positive case is added.) We are managing and watching the situation very carefully,” Yap said.

The provincial government of Bohol Facebook page reported 15 confirmed cases composed of seven active cases, seven recoveries, and one death.

The seven active cases are the three locally stranded individuals (LSIs) from Tagbilaran City, two health workers from a private hospital, one LSI from Candijay and one locally stranded invidiual from Sagbayan.

The seven recovered patients include the Chinese woman, three health workers from Gov. Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital (GCGMH), two overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), and the 65-year-old woman from Brgy. Dao in Tagbilaran City.

The lone fatality was the 89-year old man from Calape town.

On June 14, Yap extended the GCQ period in the province until June 30, 2020 by issuing Executive Order No. 31 which took effect on June 16, 2020.

Pres. Rodrigo Duterte on Tuesday morning also placed Bohol under GCQ. (ecb/PIA7-Bohol)
