Antique gov thanks PRRD, congress for support to LGUs
SAN JOSE, Antique, April 10 (PIA)- – Governor Rhodora Cadiao expressed gratitude to President Rodrigo Duterte and the legislators for the support extended to local government units for them to cope amid impact of the Enhanced Community Quarantine due to Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).
In her interview with Secretary Martin Andanar during the Laging Handa Network Briefing organized by the Philippine Information Agency, April 6, Cadiao said that her office is closely coordinating with House Deputy Speaker Loren Legarda and other national government agencies in the implementation of Social Amelioration Program, TUPAD #BKBK, Comprehensive Assistance Program and other support mechanism to help Antiqueños.
She also shared that the implementation of SAP is challenging because of the unique terrain of the province as many barangays are isolated, in mountains, the reason why there is difficulty in the processing of requirements like distributing and filling-out of forms for the SAC, and coming up with a list.
“The mayors are in constant communication with barangay officials to ensure everyone needing support of the government will not be left behind,” she said.
The Governor also emphasized that she has directed the Provincial Inter-Agency Task Force COVID 19 to implement stricter measures so that the travellers could not bring virus in the province.
“We only allow one person (only the driver) of delivery cargo to enter and we do the off-loading of goods to prevent the spread of corona virus disease,” she said.
On whether Antique will extend or lift ECQ, she said that the province will abide with what the President is going to declare.
To help employees of the provincial government in this trying times, Cadiao said that the salaries of permanent/regular employees especially the medical workers/frontliners here were already released in advance. (JBG/PSM/PIA Antique)
