Antique frontliners to undergo rapid testing
SAN JOSE, ANTIQUE, May 8 (PIA6) — Frontliners in Antique will soon undergo rapid testing on corona virus disease 2019 (COVID-19) following the procurement of the provincial government’s P15 million worth of test kits.
Governor Rhodora Cadiao disclosed this during the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) press conference, where frontliners in the province composed of doctors, nurses, district hospital staff, policemen, border control checkpoint personnel, media practitioners, and provincial social welfare development staff, among others, will benefit from it.
The provincial government also received 13 boxes of COVID Rapid Diagnostic Test (RDT) kits worth P5 million from Semirara Mining and Power Corporation.
“I’m happy that we have now sufficient test kits para ma-testingan kita tanan (we can have ourselves tested) so that we will eventually know if there are walking time bombs or we are safe,” Cadiao said.
Cadiao added that these donated test kits will cover the rapid testing of almost 6,000 Antiqueños including the “sakadas” or sugarcane laborers.
To date, the province of Antique is under the General Community Quarantine pursuant to Executive Order 45 which lasts until May 15, 2020. (LTP/LML-PIA6 Antique)
