4Ps beneficiaries in Iloilo, Bacolod City can now get 2nd tranche SAP
ILOILO CITY, June 12 (PIA) – The beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) in Iloilo province and cities of Iloilo and Bacolod can now withdraw their second tranche of Social Amelioration Program (SAP) cash grant through their cash cards.
Covered areas for the second tranche of SAP emergency subsidy include those that were still on Enhanced Community Quarantine for the period May 1 to 15, 2020 based on recommendation of the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) Resolution as declared in Executive Order 112.
In Western Visayas, a total of 104,027 4Ps household beneficiaries automatically received their emergency subsidy early today, a press release from the Department of Social Welfare and Development 6 said.
Under the Bayanihan to Heal as One Act, the SAP cash assistance is given to low-income families, to include the 4Ps beneficiaries, to help them cope during the enhanced community quarantine due to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.
The 4Ps families in Western Visayas received their first tranche of SAP assistance on April 3, where each grantee were given P4,650 as a top-up on their monthly cash grants for health and rice subsidy to complete the P6,000 SAP package, noted in the press release.
The same top-up assistance for the health and rice subsidy cash grants to the Pantawid families will be provided for the second tranche covering the month of May.
The amount that each household receives is based on the prescribed emergency subsidy per region determined from the region’s minimum wage levels as these are close approximations to the amount needed to buy basic food, medicine, and hygiene essentials, the press release said.
The 4Ps beneficiaries may withdraw their cash assistance through their Euro Master Visa (EMV) cards or may use them at the grocery stores, supermarkets, and drugstores with Point of Sale (POS) terminal. (JBG-PIA6/DSWD6)
