4 Vizcaya centenarians get perks
BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, June 18(PIA) – Four centenarians here recently received P100,000 incentive from the provincial government.
The recipients were Juanita Genato, Victoriana Bullecer and Juliana Dumo of Bayombong town and Peterno Garcia of Solano.
The check incentives were personally delivered by Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer Flordelina Granada and Leonard Cadoy, representative of Governor Carlos Padilla.
“Because of the prohibitions brought by the COVID-19 pandemic, we personally delivered the incentive for our recipients who were in their respective houses with their families,” Granada said.
The giving of incentives for the successful centenarians in the province was started in 2014 through an ordinance penned by then board member Donior Tidang through his chairmanship of the committee on senior citizens’ affairs.
With the province’s Centenarian ordinance and the national law on Centenarians, qualified elderlies in the province will receive P200,000 each.
These laws are hailed by the elderly sector in Nueva Vizcaya as it ensures them of more benefits to maintain their longevity and support for their family.# Benjamin Moses M. Ebreo/PIA 2-Nueva Vizcaya
